Rip for Epson 4000

  • Subject: Rip for Epson 4000

We intended to purchase two Epson 4000 units for our prepress labs but have
been told by our vendor that the Epson 4000 is no longer available. We
wanted the Professional edition with its included RIP due to cost savings.
There seems to be some confusion about the availability of the Professional
edition for the 4800. Does anyone have any suggestions for a third party
RIP for the Epson 4800 that will run on a G5. Driving the RIP from a
WindowsXP unit isn't an option. Many thanks for your help.

In the field of RIPs there is sure a lot to choose from, and as service providers we have encountered too many sad cases with nightmareish user interfaces and linearisation procedures that are complicated and time-consuming. Just count the hours you have spent linearizing and profiling your proofing system!

One solution that I like a lot is the Proofmaster Folio RIP. In all aspects it is very easy to use, easy to linearize, very stable and the quality is very good. It allso handles grayscale and RGB elements like a dream. http://proofmaster.net

Make life easier for yourself. Try it out
