>>From: bruce fraser <email@hidden>: On Mac OS, the paper-specific profiles are actually buried in the Epson driver. The driver selects the appropriate profile based on the media settings in the driver. I haven't looked at the WIndows behavior at all closely but I suspect that a similar arrangement exists there.
Hi Bruce!
Yes...it is the same...
Using W2K (I'm pretty sure XP is the same) and PS7 (someday I *will* get CS2 off the floor and installed...'-}}). While I've never created my own profiles (had mine done by Cathy's Profiles), when printing the target(s) for my Epson 4000 custom profile(s), I did the following:
Photoshop7 print window:
1. Color Management > Source Space > Document: Untagged RGB
2. Color Management > Print Space > Profile: Same as Source (Intent: greyed out)
Epson 4000 print window:
1. Choose the paper type I want (for the Hawk Mountain Art Papers Osprey Textured and Strathmore Creative Cards cardstock profiles--both matte papers--I chose Watercolor Radiant White...the nice thing is that the profile for Osprey Textured works for all the other Hawk Mountain Art Papers I use)
2. Choose the Epson ppi/dpi (360, 720, 1440, 2880) you want
3. Choose No Color Adjustment and I also unchecked high speed
>>To actually make prints using the profile, I let Photoshop do the conversion on the print stream by choosing the printer profile in the Print with (Hopelessly Inaccurate) Preview, then appropriate media settings and No Color Adjustment in the driver.
Same on the pc side. I choose the appropriate profile in the PS print window and in the Epson print window, I choose the paper type, ppi/dpi and set No Color Adjustment.
