The vendors I mentioned offer customizable strips of color patches and can
work independtly of a rip. For example I did an xf colorproof last year and
we were comparing film based matchprints to inkjet prints. This solution
was easy as placing a tiff file in Quark and then measuring the MP proof.
Of course you could use ProfileMaker to something like this but there would
be more thinking involved that a simple pass fail piece of software.
