Greetings,
I am using Best 5.01 SP2 and have a problem with the color in a gradient element. The gradient is about 2 inches in height
and 1/4 inch width. It was created in Illustrator and contains 100% yellow and a gradient of magenta. The magenta is 25%
at the bottom, gradating to 1% at about 1 1/2 inches up. The gradient is created so the 1% holds from 1 1/2 inches up to
the top of the element.
When I print this element through the Best RIP with our lin file, press profile as reference, and Epson profile for paper
profile the gradient is much lighter than I know it should be.
The file is saved as an EPS and placed in a Hot Folder on the Best RIP
Below are some experiments I tried and the results:
1 - Send the file through the BEST with CM off and a "canned" lin file - gradient looks correct.
2 - Send the file through the BEST with CM off and our lin file - gradient looks correct.
3 - Send file through BEST with CM on, our lin file, and press profile for both reference and paper profile - gradient looks
correct.
4 - Send file through BEST with CM on, our lin file, and Epson profile for both reference and paper profile - gradient looks
correct.
Anyone have a clue as to what is going on here? Am I correct in guessing that there is a problem in the B to B translation?
Thanks in advance to all that respond. This will be cross posted to other digests.
-Bill-
