I completely agree, herr Karcher. No question. But, you know, I am tempted
to respond that TR-001:1993 is not a "standard", like Martin argued before?
(Sorry Martin, I could not resist this one)
Is a *standard* only a standard when it bears an ISO number? Then what are
Gracol and SNAP? The boundary between a standard and a specification is not
clear in terms of industry leadership. There are lots of folks who say they
adhere to SWOP, here, in North-America. Others say they adhere to Gracol.
Others, yet, to SNAP. And, in Europe, and I'd be curious to know in North
America, there are a lot of druckers who say they adhere to ISO-12647-x, and
get certified for it.
