In France some printers use the Sicogif standard. That's not (yet) 100% ISO
but it's a French national standard.
What I like about Sicogif is their proof validation specs; I think
it's much better than Fogra's in two aspects:
1) two-level tolerances: a "pass" tolerance (for example dE<6) and an
"optimum" tolerance (for example dE<3)
2) grouping (and applying different tolerances) to important colors:
there are specific tolerances defined for neutrals (average / max) and
for skin tones.
Probably the need for tighter tolerances in neutrals could be
addressed by a new version of Fogra tolerances based on dE00. Altough
I like the addressing of "memory colors" (specifically skin tones),
the use of dE00 would be a large enough advance to be satisfied for
the moment.

Roberto,
The ECI is aware of the importance of neutral colors and CMYK
combinations with low C-values.
The Wuppertal University suggested to modify the Fogra Media Wedge
CMYK and add more of those colors.
Already in the Brunner-days (seventies) we experienced that
low C-value colors are very sensitive to changes.
Reference colors too.
I expect that during the DigitalProof Forum 2006 more info
on this subject will be made available.
Regards, Henk
