Roger,
I'm not sure of any good 3-D working spaces, but it is possible to use a 3-D
gamut-compressed space, such as an RGB printer profile, as a working space
in Photoshop.
Of course a printer profile would usually not be considered a wise choice as
an RGB working space, but someone could obviously construct a synthetic RGB
working space profile with "printer-type" gamut compression already
embedded. Using the View - Custom option you could then preview your wide
gamut original RGB image through the non-linear gamut compression of that
profile.
