I would love to hear comments on the color technology promoted on this
site:

thx, gordo
Things are quiet in the annual report business, so I had a chance to play with this.
On the website, they claim that digital cameras (regardless of price/quality) cannot distinguish purple from blue. As a test, they suggest that you shoot a picture of their homepage which contains an image about half of which is blue, the other half purple. They then tell you to look at your camera's LCD display and, SHAZAAM!!, there's no purple, only blue. I tried this with a variety of subjects (using a Canon 5D and a Canon 20D) - their website, my recently-opened purple crocus flowers, a purple sweater. Well, they're right about one thing: the LCD is lousy at distinguishing blue from purple. But that's where it ends. Once the files have been processed through Camera Raw (with no special adjustments beyond setting a proper white point), the purple is back in full glory in all cases.
Sounds like a bit of snake oil.
