New RIP, old RIP and device-link profiles

  • Subject: New RIP, old RIP and device-link profiles

Running a Roland FJ-500.
Currently we are using the bundled RIP, ColorChoice (produced by ScanvecAmiable) and the "canned" profiles provided to us by Roland. The profiles have a sizable amount of "secret sauce" due to the fact you need to use special Scanvec software to produce a profile that will leverage the Lc, Lm, O & G channels while using ColorChoice. Basically not totally ICC compliant.

We are switching to ErgoSoft StudioPrint shortly. And will be profiling via PMP & Eye-One.

My question is, how would I go about creating a device-link profile so I can repeat the output that occurred under the previous RIP (ColorChoice) even though the "canned" profiles are so "secret-saucy"?

New at this so any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
