Bad PMS Library?
Bad PMS Library?

Can someone shed some light on this problem I've found?
I'm finding a discrepancy with Pantone Solid Uncoated 397 between
Illustrator CS2 and Photoshop CS2. Both applications are set to the
same color settings, US Prepress Defaults. In Illustrator I get a
green that is much to light, Photoshop will give the correct color
and print the correct color.
RGB call outs in Illustrator are 211-208-52, in Photoshop they are
164-165-52. This is a big difference between applications. I'm trying
to print the Illustrator file to an Epson using the Epson driver and
since Illustrator does not support Lab I'm giving you the RGB numbers.
I open the Illustrator file in Photoshop to print from there but I've
got to make a selection of the now incorrect colors coming from
Illustrator and then fill them with correct hue from Photoshop.
Why am I seeing such a large difference in the same PMS color? Is
Illustrator's Pantone Library really that far off?
Thank you,
David Wollmann
