David,
In a message dated 5/8/06 7:15:43 PM, you write:
One of our Devices (a HP Design Jet 1050) cannot be changed in the device
list of Colorsync. When I try to change the profile by choosing a
icc-profile from the harddisk, the old (incorrect) Profile still stays
there. Even when I delete the old Profile, and re-install the Printer
Driver, I'm still unable to choose a Profile for this Printer.
I am not sure about HP's driver, however, with Epson's driver I had a similar situation. In order to change the device profile for the driver to recognize one other than the "Factory Profile" you might try this: ColorSync Utility>Device and click on the old profile. This will open a dialogue that lists the "Mode", the "Factory Profile" and its path. Beneath that you can set a new profile for that "Mode" which is really what is showing up in the list of device profiles. Click on the triangle adjacent to "Current Profile" browse and select the profile you desire.
In my situation, the device list of "Modes" still indicates the original profile name, however, in lieu of the original corresponding "Factory Profile" associated with it, the driver uses the new one selected under "Current Profile."
I hope this helps.
