Hello,
I am trying to create an ICC scanner profile for a Cezanne Elite that
is using ColorGeniusEX 2.1.2, running on OSX10.3.9. Has anyone
attempted this before? Is this actually possible? If so can anyone
tell me the best method of obtaining a raw scan for reflective material?
Thank you for your time...
Regards.

Hello Matthew,
The main thing with the Cezanne is to defeat its built-in auto
balance function.
If you make a scan and then scan the same image again it will be
different.
The trick to keep the Ai function from activating is to:
1. Make a prescan.
2. Draw a marquee around your image area
3. DO NOT CLICK ON OR WITHIN THE IMAGE MARQUEE
If you do this the Ai will activate and all bets are off.
4. Click on the box that brings up your color and tone curves.
5. Set all 3 Highlight Densities to 0.0 and all Shadow densities to 2.5
6. Turn off usm, gray balance, and saturation.
7. Save this table.
8. You should now be able to just prescan your entire bed with many
photos then go directly to high res using a marquee and just
recalling your table.
9. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT.
This last step drove me crazy until I discovered what the scanner was
doing.
When scanning multiple images, you must use the same marquee. Just
move it over to the next image ( you can resize it)
If you draw another marquee the software will revert to Ai mode
without any warning it has done so.
10. You may find it necessary to give your target scan a good
blurring before you create the profile. This scanner is so sensitive
it picks up the
grain within the target and creates some noise ( this only seems to
be on scan targets not production)
I am not near the scanner today , but If you need some screen shots
of my setup I can send them to you in a day or so.
This scanner was a bear to profile, but on the plus side it is fast.
All the Best
