Well, things may work that way in practice with many profilers,
but they shouldn't. There's something wrong if having less
information about the device gives a better result than having
more information.
What it really indicates is that the profilers are taking the
measured points as being more accurate than they actually are,
so that more points is leading to more "noise" energy (build
up of random errors) being modelled by the profile, rather than
the profile representing the most likely underlying device
characteristic, which should get smoother as the number of
points increases (assuming that the underlying device response
is smooth itself.)
