Hi again. I am troubleshooting an Epson Expression 10000 XL Pro, profiles
made with the Hutchinson 4x5 Ektachrome target and ProfileMaker Pro,
scanning software is the latest version of VueScan with settings such that a
raw file is saved to disk (at least as raw as is possible).
PROBLEM: The white patch on the target is scanning no higher than
approximately RGB = 190 which is way to dark. I cannot figure out if this
scanner has "real" exposure control. While there are some controls for
exposure in the software, I believe they are simply a post processing step
that stretches the scanned values.
Does anyone know if there is a way with this scanner, perhaps with different
software, to increase and/or control exposure? What software would you
recommend to drive this scanner in an ICC workflow?
On an identical setup--same scanner model, same software and settings, same
profiling procedure--I am getting a white point at roughly RGB = 235, which
is still a little lower than I would like it to be, but much more reasonable
than 190.
Thanks in advance!
