quote(s) that you referred to, but they certainly do not make any
reference to alternate definitions, or "meanings", of Luminance.
I think perhaps what you meant to say was that sometimes Luminance is
calculated using various short-cuts based on different assumptions,
which usually lead to incorrect results. IMHO, this is different from
stating that luminance can have different meanings depending on the
context.
In any case, I apologize again if the misunderstanding was mine. (I
won't bother responding further on this...)
