It saddens me to no end to see this kind of ignorance about what AbsCol
means. It's fine that TWP has managed to coat an actual press printing stock
for inkjet printing. If it works for Unimac it may work for other sites too,
great. But belittling AbsCol is, well, a bit strong. The "argument" is
prediction. It's not about one style of proof over another. Like Rich Appolo
said "use what works". And I added "different strokes for different folks".
What Unimac has found is the joy of AbsCol in the form of a "perfect" match
between press stock and proofing stock. In that particular case, if I apply
my humble knowledge of the ICC system, either RelCol or AbsCol will result
in the same visual appearance. There is a reason why this works. If it
pleases the folks at Unimac, fine. It does not mean it's the panacea.

"Perfectly"? Allow me some degree of scepticism. I'm ready to concede that
it was probably very, very good, however. (I'm picky with words, I know)

So color management does work, after all?

Thank's for bringing Pierre into the discussion. More food for thought.
That's what I like about this List, openess.
