Subject: ISO Print Sequence
Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII; delsp=yes; format=flowed
Hi,
I went to a printer the other day to set them up to run to ISO
12647-2. The ISO standard print sequence is CMY, with black either
first or last. They were printing MCYK, but could give no reason to
do so, other than they had heard that it was 'better'. The ISO
document gives no indication WHY CMY should be used. A google search
online only gave a brief explanation saying that Green suffer only a
little using CMY, but reds suffer alot using MCY. No reason was given
and I couldn't understand why the first and third inks would be the
problem.
Obviously to match a proof CMY must be used (They are proofing to ISO
Coated), but other that that I didn't know.
Hope someone can help.
