One way to determine which TIL values off the blackest shadow area  for your
printing process is to create a test form with a variety of black color
builds, such as 300%, 320% 340% etc.   Then measure those areas with a
spectrophotometer and determine which values provide the lowest L* values.

In some cases this type of activity  can be eye opening to see that for
example  320% TIL might produce a lower L* value than 360%.
