I have seen the demo unit at the german CeBit this year and I was not
impressed. This display might be good for designers maybe, but today
there are already displays which can be calibrated _very_ accurate and
where the gray balance is far better then the 200K BenQ promises for
this new display. In addition to Eizo, NEC you already mentioned you
can look at LaCie and Quato.
The BenQ offers only a single sensor to remeasure the luminance, but
not the color. The MSRP should be around 600 Euros. So the price might
be "right" I agree, but I doubt that for color critical work a factory
calibrated display will be sufficient. There's no option to
recalibrate or reprofile the screen if you need/like to. I also don't
know how accurate the (hopefully) supplied ICC profile will be. But a
good factory calibration is of course welcome for lower-budget
displays.

I'd really like to hear what the advantage and disadvantage of a CRT
you _see_ today compared to the hardware calibrated high-end displays
mentioned above?

Where are your needs not satisfied today?
* viewing angle?
* limited bit depth (where do you _see_ this)?
* price?
* color gamut?
* long time stability?
* sharpness?
* ease of use?
* others?
Looking forward to hear your comments.
Beginning with the Eizo CG21 and Quato Intelli Proof 21 I personally
think that overall an LCD will be a better choice then a CRT. BTW,
buying a good CRT today is getting harder as you see...
With kind regards
Peter Karp
