>Using what software for profiling and what software for determining the
deltaE?
Looking back at my Apple Cinema Display 23 calibrated using the i1
Display-2 and the demo version of basICColor Display 4 I see two average
deltaE samples of 0.69 and 0.42>
What set of patches that are being used for evaluation can make a difference as well. I'm pretty sure basICColor display is measuring the same set of patches that the Monaco Optix package is measuring when performing a profile evaluation. The Optix package is measuring the ColorChecker chart. Don't quite remember what basICColor display is measuring, but I seem to recall only gray values...? Of course, if the monitor's gamut isn't capable of displaying all the colors in the Color Checker due to gamut limitation, reported delta E might be accurate, but not necessarily indicative of a failure of the software/instrument.
