Alas, no :(
I wish the user had the choice of whatever set of patches he or she desires
to use in this procedure. MonacoOptix XR pro uses the 24 patches
corresponding to the ColorChecker chart but basICcolor Display and, if I'm
not mistaking, ColorEyes Display both uses a different set of patches chosen
to correspond to some other logic.

No, there are many colors also.

That depends who you talked to on this list, with all due respect Mike. I
recall Bruce Lindbloom many times stating on this List that only the cyan
and yellow were typically out of gamut on a good CRT.
