Re: Eizo DG211
Re: Eizo DG211
While it is not yet available and final pricing for the US has not been
established, I can vouch for the NEC Multisync 2690WUXi. I saw it at
Photokina and the NEC manager indicated that each panel is characterized at
the factory for uniformity. A significant effort is made to "tune" every
square centimeter of the oversized screen. This produces the most evenly
lit display that I have seen. In addition to brightness, the attention to
opacity for light extinction has significantly improved. So much so that an
880:1 contrast ratio can be achieved. The monitor I observed had a
fantastic black point without appearing overly blown out in the highlights.
It also offers an ultrawide viewing angle (with no perceived change it
color except at extreme angles), and 95% of the Adobe RGB gamut. Expect the
ballpark price to be in the $3000 range. Compared to the Barco Calibrators
we grew up with, this seems like an excellent reference display.

My CG21 has some brightness uniformity uneveness that bugs me so
much that, at times, I'd be more than happy to trade it in for a CG211
