There's a subtle distinction between limiting and linearization though.
For linearization I have suggested two slightly different ideas
in the past. One is to linearize the vector-from-white's length
with respect to the device value, the other is to linearize the
delta E along the colorant locus. These of course amount to the
same thing if the locus happens to be a straight line.
