And add to that the fact that, on CTPs, the plates are imaged "positively".
So, the distinction between a negative or positive workflow does not exist
anymore.

I'm not sure if it's relevant to what you were saying, but there are both "positive working" and "negative working" plates for CTP. Also, from what I understand, there are those that feel that there are enough users of film to warrant continued inclusion/support in the standard.
