Incidently, my old Mitsu900u CRT black luminance shows 0,28 cd/m2 in the
same conditions (RGB=0,0,0 in Photoshop, with monitor profile assigned).

If I substantially black out my CRT, I read 0.04 on my DT94. If I have a white window near the test box, I get 0.19. I'm not quite sure what the CRT behaviour is normally called (possibly "flare" ?). Maybe some CRT's are better than others in this respect.

LCD's don't seem to have this sort of dynamic variation in black
level that depends on the proximity of brightly lit areas.
