Apple Laptops for CMS ?

Hi Folks,

I just went to look at Apple laptops today, and the present Macbook
Pro line, in particular the 17" seem to have very bright but very
directional screens when compared with my old Powerbook 17 at 1Ghz.
And the new models have a marked "edge" effect of falloff of
brightness about half an inch (1cm) from each edge.

Was I just seeing some bad samples of 17 and 15, or have they all got
bright but non-uniform screens nowadays ?

Could someone nudge Apple ?
