I remember working with LivePicture. I don't recall if it was a demo or a
full version (though I'm sure we didn't pay $3,000). I agree, it was pretty
amazing. I used it primarily for collage work. The proxy images allowed for
a great deal of speed - remarkable in comparison to what at the time was
Photoshop 3.0, if I remember correctly? I had some difficulty with output
and ended up sticking with Photoshop. Shortly afterwards (maybe a year or
so), I heard the LivePicture either died or was dying. It was sad really,
they seemed to be the best chance of a Photoshop competitor.
