I have the V750 which replaced an Imacon 848. I think its an excellent
scanner, especially if you go the route of wet mounting film on this
product. There IS a difference in speed between the Epson and 848 of course
and I suspect the lens in the Imacon cost more than several Epson scanners
combined. But then as nice as the Imacon was, it didn't hold a candle to my
ScanMate 5000. When you do a few film scans a year, its hard to justify much
more than the Epson. Plus the money I got for the Imacon went towards a
Canon 5D and a few lens. I'm very happy with the Epson based on the low
usage I have for it. I drive it using SilverFast.
