Andrew,
Nikon tried to encrypt some WB data, didn't work. But its the thought that
counts!
But it did work, didn't it? AFAIK Adobe now uses Nikon's mini-SDK (under
licence?) to decrypt the WB for ACR and LR.
And Nikon isn't the only one to do this as Dave Coffin pointed out in his
dpreview interview - "Phase One, Sony, Foveon, and Canon all apply some form
of encryption to their RAW files".
Mike Chaney of QImage fame complains that Adobe doesn't publish details of
.psd format any more, so QImage can't read them. Naughty Adobe!
Anyhow, enough of this - I leave the last word to you. It's dog eat dog out
there in the software world. ;)
Bob Frost.
