Robert,
I never been a big proponent of UV filter. But, to the best of my
recollection, the DTP-70 unit I receive had the UV filter in the OFF
position. Maybe X-Rite changed their policy since I received my unit? But I
would not worry too much about having it OFF for so long, especially for
handling commercial coated papers. Although some are really "blue".
