Thanks. The responses from both you and Scott have helped put me at ease.
You are right...mine too came with the UV in the OFF position. I was
recently referencing something in the user manual and I misread the details
about the UV switch. It clearly stated that the machine comes with the UV
"excluded". But for some reason, my eyes were reading "included". So I just
went into a panic and started thinking of the phone calls I'd be getting due
to inaccurate profiles.
I may make a few profiles now, with and without, just to compare the
differences.

I never been a big proponent of UV filter. But, to the best of my
recollection, the DTP-70 unit I receive had the UV filter in the OFF
position. Maybe X-Rite changed their policy since I received my unit? But I
would not worry too much about having it OFF for so long, especially for
handling commercial coated papers. Although some are really "blue".
