What's going on is color is practically impossible to
get into a consistent state when working with motion
pictures.

Motion pictures "manage" color with lighting.  Also,
it's important to note the range of color is quite
narrow once you compress things into a DVD, even HD so
color management isn't really necessary as the viewers
brain does a great deal of color adjustment on its own.
