question on LED-backlit displays

  • Subject: question on LED-backlit displays

Now that several LED-backlit displays are on the market, likely at a premium (for now at least), could anyone comment on how they compare to the conventionally backlit displays in real-world use (for photographers)?

I know they're supposed to use less energy. What else, good or bad? A link to a review would also be appreciated.

If you want to know where I'm coming from, I was thinking of splurging on a 30" display (now that Dell's has come down to where I'm OK with it) but am wondering if the premium for the "new technology" is worth it.

Thank you,
Armand
