I guess if LEDs monitors are anything like RGB and LCD monitors then we have
to remember that all LEDs monitors are not created equal, the same way that
all RGB and LCD monitors are not created equal. What I mean by that is the
fact that different monitor manufacturers will likely source and integrate
LEDs differently into their products. And thus, from the same "technology"
produce various visual quality.
I remember Andrew Rodney commenting last fall was it about the Samsung XL20
he'd seen at PMA. Said he was not overly impressed with the visual quality.
Of course we know Andrew is adamant to his Artisan but we can trust his
visual judgement for image displays.
I, for one, have not had the chance, yet, to see one of those LED displays
anywhere. I wish I would have gone the SID Conference in May this year but I
could not.

I'm curious to see what calibrated D50 will "look" like on these displays as
opposed to what we know calibrated D50 looks on LCDs. What's going to be the
emissive spectrum like: three smooth spikes?

Well, the only game in town today in 30" LEDs if this is what you had in
mind, Armand, is the recently introduced Samsung XL30 which, from some
European accounts I've read, is said to retail for 5000 Euros. That's going
to be a big splurge?
