A HP Color LaserJet 5500 dtn
I've had the chance to profile that and other HP Laserjets both as
CMYK and as RGB with various driver settings. Each time the final
test prints show that they clearly profile better as an RGB device
with the default driver settings (ColorSmart and Vivid).
Interesting.
I'm not certain why this is but the final prints speak for
themselves. I keep a running list of various laser printers and
which way they prefer to be profiled (most as CMYK as one would
expect). Try yours as RGB and tell us your results.
I would love to, but I have no idea how I could do this. While it is
true that I can specify an RGB profile for the LaserJet in ColorSync
Utility, the Color LaserJet actually always uses the CMYK profile, no
matter whether I print RGB or CMYK docs, and there is no way to tell
it to do otherwise.
How did you tell an HP Color LaserJet to use an RGB profile?
Bye
Uli
