Yes, it seems silly, and petty.
So, does that also mean, if you create your own custom targets using
MeasureTool, that GretagMacbeth/XRite owns those too because they were
generated using their product?
That would be very silly indeed, because, for example, the manufacturers of
a lathe could then argue that all machine parts built with it by the lathe's
purchaser belong to the lathe's manufacturer. It would be a ridiculous
argument.
