How would you go about doing what you suggested?

Well, in my case I was using pre-baked curves to generate extra C and
M plates. I used an IT8 target and generated the extra plates. I then
made a Matchprint with all six seps. Measured it and used that
profile in Photoshop for previewing purposes. Photoshop, ColorBlind
Edit, and ProfileMaker (3) all just handled the information as a CMYK
output profile. The bump plates were generated manually, so it worked
out fine.
