Rick,
Please open up your copy of the "G7 How to (V6)" at the bottom of page 36,
section A4. Look up the CMY density corresponding to the 50% CMY gray patch,
with paper included. In bracket, you'll see the letters "ND", for neutral
density (I think that's what ND is used for here). What do you make of the
number 0.59 being shown: is this strictly the ISO Visual reading on the
50c40m40y calibrated patch, or can that be extended to what the expected
reading be on the four StatusT density filters, as shown at the bottom of
the following page (37), section A7, right hand side of the page screen
capture of a Series 500 densitometer?
You know, between you and me, for all the hoopla surrounding the G7 method,
I find those densitometric readings (V0.60 C0.60 M0.59 Y0.58) on the four
filters on the nose to the densitometric readings we'd get from a well
prepared Matchprint.
