Hello list,
with version 4.1.x the license system has changed in basICColor display.
The step has to be done because of the universal binary support for
Intel-Macs.
The version 3.x to 4.0.x of basICColor have used the MAC-adress of the
Ethernet card for identifying the computer.
The old machine-IDs (V.3.x - V.4.0.x) were looking like this: 0a1b2c3d4e5f
Now starting with version 4.1.x the machine ID's have changed and can be
identified very easily! Now the machine-ID's are ending with xxx-5!!!
Example (V.4.1.x): 0123456789-5
If you update from basICColor display 4.0.x to 4.1.x you will need a NEW
LIC-file. This information is also posted on the first page of the license
web-site.
THE UPDATE IS FREE OF CHARGE (V.4.0.x to V.4.1.x)!!
Just order the new LIC-file through the basICColor license server (section:
Licensing/"2. without a TAN") or send an email to email@hidden
Enter the option "Hardware replacement" and the new machine-ID in the
web-dialog.
Then you will automatically get a new LIC-file for basICColor display 4.1.x.
If you open a basICColor LIC-file with a text editor, it should look like
this (V.4.1.x):
###### LIC-file data ######
FEATURE display4 basICColor 1.000 permanent uncounted \
HOSTID=0123456789-5 SIGN="2F15 40D8 ADFC 123F 56F6 05A5 AE5F \
1234 5678 90AB 9BBB 35"
##########################
When you have downloaded the new LIC file, you can load the LIC-file via the
license-window of basICColor display. There is no need anymore to copy the
LIC-file to the application folder (but it still works).
With best regards.
