Hello Klaus, hello list
The Ghent working Group http://www.gwg.org has released some nice
patches to test PDF applications very fast and easy for handling of
overprinting.
(with english documentation)
Also at http://www.altonatestsuite.de You can use the technical page for
a deeper analysis.
The swiss group http://www.pdfx-ready.ch made some nice free testpages
from with the gwg patches, which they also using for their
certifications of print output providers
(with german documentation)
The PDF/X-Ready page shows for Mac OSX Preview 3.0.9:
GWG patch 13.0: OPM1 overprint is not correct visualized
GWG patch 1.0: several CMYK types of CMYK overprinting are not
visualized correct.
By the way, I never heard, that Apple preview should be able to
visualize overprinting, nor did I heard, that the apple printing
architecture should be able to to simulate overprinting correctly.
Thats one of the main reasons, that I still think, that apple colorsync
is not usable in the professional prepress area.
Regards
Jan-Peter
