Looking for decent monitor within budget

  • Subject: Looking for decent monitor within budget

My 17" NEC MultiSync FP912 CRT is dying. Oh well, I was never really in love
with it anyway. I need to replace it soon so I don¹t lose a day of work when
it finally crashes.

I have a limited budget since I'm self employed and don't have a big shop
budget. I do strictly photo editing - no video, games or whatever. Fast is
not crucial, color accuracy is, for sending out to print shops, or printing
on my own Epson 2200.

The (dying) NEC is 17", but I'd like to go larger with a budget of $500. I
usually have piles of images on my screen, and color comparing them for best
print is a lot of what I do.

Thanks for any suggestions on my ~$500 budget. The worst thing that could
happen is to spend it on the wrong monitor that my 10 hour days, subsistence
living depends on.

- Sharon
