Certainly the Digital Ideas DICENet/Colorbus NT cyclone RIPs that I was involved in used device link type color transformation and were available over many years, and I'm sure others did as well, and of course a key feature of (my) Argyll package since it's inception over 10 years ago has been true gamut mapped device links, so I think "unique" is far too strong a claim.
