Personally, from the photographer's point of view, I would say that the goal
of fine-art printing is to provide the fullest expression of the artist's
intent, with print results that are the least possible constrained by
limitations in color gamut, dynamic range and other technical hurdles.
My point is that fine-art printing is also *creative*, not simply a means of
reproduction to match previously-achieved results.
