I've read the ICC specs (v2 and v4) and I see how the n-dimensional LUTs are saved in a profile. But I've so far not been able to find any information on the web how such a CLUT is evaluated so that say incoming RGB turns into the profile's PCS.

As I've learned from other posts, most CMSs will actually combine the transforms from to profiles into ONE transform, so things are executed faster. But still, I would like to know in detail which operations are really needed just to do one transform to or from PCS.

Can someone here give me a pointer where I might find such information?

I would just like to add that I read the LCMS tutorial, there LUT stages are explained as:
[Mat] -> [L1] -> [Mat3] -> [Ofs3] -> [L3] -> [CLUT] -> [L4] -> [Mat4] -> [Ofs4] -> [L2]

    Mat{n} are matrices of 3x3
    Ofs{n} are offsets
    CLUT is a multidimensional LUT table

Interestingly when I look at a profile in ColorSync, for an A2Bx tag it shows only the tabs Matrix, In Curves, Table, Out Curves. Why won't ColorSync display the additional Matrixes and 1d LUTs?
