I've read the ICC specs (v2 and v4) and I see how the n-dimensional
LUTs are saved in a profile. But I've so far not been able to find any
information on the web how such a CLUT is evaluated so that say
incoming RGB turns into the profile's PCS.
It's unclear what you are looking for beyond the introductory
material in section 0.2 of the ICCV4.2 spec, and the diagrams in
section 0.4, and the detail in the specification proper.
The individual tag type definition (for instance 10.8, lut16)
gives a step by step through each part of the transformation,
including how the domains from each step map, and defining
and referring to the individual colorspace encoding.
Perhaps the only thing not spelled out is the typical
means of interpolating within the clut table.
Typical methods are multi-linear or simplex
(ie. in 3D, Trilinear and Tetrahedral) interpolation.
