The filters will age, I'm sure, but are there studies that conclude that a
certain degree of aging takes place within two years in these colorimeters
and that such aging has a *significant* effect on the reliability of the
measurements? Meaning that the profiles created with them come out too
*visibly* green, blue or red, or dim?
After all, the gels could be better than that. In photographic applications,
gels can last a long time, even when subjected to intense heat, which
greatly accelerates any aging that is taking place.
Also, the gels may be better in some colorimeters than in others. I'm sure
that there are variables that do make a difference in the end.
