Lets pull out a $20K spectroradiometer and test both the instrument

Color Eyes Display Pro (CEDP) does let you calibrate and profile your
display with a number of devices and then validate and compare the
results with an EyeOne Pro. You can even validate and compare CEDP
profile against profiles from other vendors. But I realize this isn't
an absolute way of comparing devices or results. While these device
specific "validation" results aren't definitive, I do find them to be
insightful. Similar to MonacoProfiler and Color Elite's round trip
delta E numbers that are displayed after output profiles are
generated, the validation results may not tell you if the calibration
is perfect for that person's needs but it may indicate if something
went wrong. There is value to the validation although it isn't the
absolute you might be looking for.
As a side note, you'll also appreciate that CEDP let's you control
the contrast ratio like the Artisan and use a native white point. :-]
As for colorimeters I have found the EyeOne Display (1and2) and
Spyder1 to be inconsistent. In my experience the DTP94 has been
extremely consistent both over time and from device to device. From
what little I have seen of the Spyder2 I have no problems with it.
Bundling the Spyder with CEDP seems and excellent, powerful and
affordable combination for the masses.
