That's my experience using the software mated with the units I have (OTPIX,
EyeOne etc several of each). But this is hardly scientific nor should it be
an endorsement of the products based on this alone.
I have a buddy who has access to a very nice spectroradiometer but he's on
the other side of the country and he's using it a lot these days testing
lots of equipment.
Currently I'm quite impressed with the NEC 2690 WUXi with an EyeOne Display2
and the SpectraView II software which provides nearly all of the smart
monitor features I've relied on in the past (Artisan and Barco). The
software isn't attractive but I do like one push button control, ability to
update calibration and profiles on the fly.

Nope!

I prefer to LOOK at images. Yes, an image is a big pile of square colors of
which we can gauge some information about when looked at individually (Lab
values) the instrument (no instrument) nor software can tell you this better
or faster than simply viewing some images in context, images designed for
such tests.

I've yet to be convinced of this and some people have tried.

So doers the SpectraView II software using my EyeOne Display2 and an NEC
2690 WXUi which I'm liking a lot considering what I'm seeing and the price
point.

How many samples of each, based on what, over what time span?
If a decent group of vendors and end users have such data, it would be
beneficial to correlate it all and provide the results.
