Greetings All,

OK. And how about ink trapping comparison?

Just check the overprints as averaged over 3 different flexo presses for two runs. Here are the dE to the 2006 spec:

MY:
run 1 - 0.83
run 2 - 1.77

CY:
run 1 - 1.72
run 2 - 1.37

MC:
run 1 - 2.27
run 2 - 2.11

One of the challenges with overprints on a flexo press is that they can be drastically different across / around the web because of variables such as; stickyback, print cylinder integrity; impression; doctor blade setting; anilox wear and cleanliness, etc, etc, etc. That it works at all and customers are satisfied with the product has amazed me over the entire 27 years I have been involved in flexo.

In reference to the original post - one thing I forgot to mention that you ought to ask your printer: what ink order are they using. Many flexo printers are still running YMCK from the legacy days when we could only get yellow ink as an opaque. It is now available as a translucent ink so it can be run somewhere else in the ink order.
