The Spyder 3, the huey and now the ColorMunki all offer an
"adjustment" to the ambient light; especially the huey was
advertised with this feature. You would think that a *color*
management device would adjust the white point to the ambient light,
Which is what Spyder3 does: define appropriate whitepoint and white
luminance targets for the ambient conditions.
Ooops, I mixed something up. What I wanted to refer to was a
*continuous* adaption.
Turns out I was confused (too much printer profiling in my mind right
now ;-) ) and it's actually *only* the huey who currently does this (a
continuous adaption).
Spyder 3 and ColorMunki consider the ambient light only *when a
profile is created*. At this point, the Spyder 3 does indeed take the
white point into account, whereas the ColorMunki again only considers
contrast and brightness.
Sorry for the confusion!
Bye
Uli
